David Moyes West Ham United

West Ham United, despite their urgency to sign a new central defender, have reportedly backed off from the signings of Fiorentina’s Nikola Milenkovic and Chelsea’s Kurt Zouma, as per 90min.

The exclusive report claims: “West Ham have pulled out of the running to sign Fiorentina defender Nikola Milenkovic and a deal for Kurt Zouma is also off, 90min can confirm.

“90min has learned that West Ham have now pulled the plug on Milenkovic and the decision to end their interest is that of manager David Moyes, who oversaw a thrilling 4-2 win at Newcastle on the opening day of the Premier League season.

“There will also be no move for Chelsea defender Zouma, whose future at Stamford Bridge is far from certain.

“The Frenchman turned down that move as he’s happy in London and was initially interested in exploring a move to West Ham when their interest became apparent.”

What next for West Ham United?

It’s being claimed that after West Ham United have pulled the plug, it’s Tottenham who are the favourites to sign Nikola Milenkovic.

Despite the fact that Zouma was ready to join the Hammers but the club are not ready to meet his massive wage demands which is why they have scrapped this deal also.

We are yet to find out who is on Moyes’ radar next but with deadline day fast approaching, most of the avenues are shutting down for the London side.

Right now, they have only four centre-backs in their first-team squad and since they will be playing in Europe this season, the manager has to add at least one more player in that department asap.

We have a feeling the Hammers will try and convince Kurt Zouma one more time to lower his demands, primarily since Chelsea are already willing to part ways with him.

The Blues will be more than happy to cash in on him since the rumours claim that Tuchel still remains interested in signing Jules Kounde.
