With each passing week, West Ham United are moving farther away from bringing back Jesse Lingard from Manchester United, as per Sky Sports.

The report claims: “West Ham now believe they only have a 10 per cent chance of re-signing Jesse Lingard from Manchester United.”

Jesse Lingard had a stellar six-month loan spell with the Hammers and at the end of last season, it was almost certain that he will be coming back to the London Stadium, this time on a permanent deal.

But as the weeks have gone by, West Ham United have found it difficult to convince Manchester United for the transfer and as per the rumours, Solskjaer is ready to offer the England international a second chance at the club.

His current deal expires in 2022 but Man United are about to offer him a new deal and even the player is reportedly ready to accept the offer.

West Ham United looking for alternatives?

West Ham United are not likely to complete this deal during the ongoing transfer window which is why they are constantly being linked with a host of other playmakers.

The Hammers have been looking at Liverpool misfit Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and as per some reports, they might also make a move for West Bromwich Albion midfielder Matheus Pereira.

The 25-year-old might not have been as influential as Jesse Lingard but he was pretty productive for West Brom last season and can surely find a place in the West Ham United starting line-up.

Oxlade-Chamberlain will obviously be a more apt replacement for the Man United midfielder but we don’t think Jurgen Klopp is too eager to part ways with him this summer.

The Englishman had very limited playing time last campaign but since Liverpool are yet to secure a replacement for Gini Wijnaldum, Klopp is not ready to take a gamble.

Man United will be attacking on all fronts this season so it makes sense for Ole to hold onto Jesse Lingard but with players like Bruno Fernandes and Donny van de Beek in the side, we don’t see the England international getting regular starts next season.
