West Ham United were once linked with Chelsea defender Kurt Zouma and it looks like David Moyes is ready to try and make a move once again, according to the Evening Standard.

The Hammers had shown an interest in Zouma a few weeks back but then they decides]d to focus on other signings. Now with the new season just around the corner, Moyes has asked his management to go back for the defender.

The report suggests: “The Hammers are looking to build a squad capable of competing in Europe and also maintaining the level which saw them finish sixth in the Premier League last season.

“A move for Chelsea centre-back Kurt Zouma collapsed earlier in the window but tentative negotiations have been reopened over a potential move for the Frenchman.”

Will Kurt Zouma be ready to join West Ham United?

In a recent interview, West Ham United manager David Moyes has hinted that his side could bring in some new signings before deadline day.

“We always want competition and I am always looking to see what options there are,” Moyes said.

”I am hoping by the end of the window we might have some more additions but I can’t guarantee anything. There is a long way to go in the window yet.”

Kurt Zouma has already snubbed a move to Sevilla in exchange for Jules Kounde and some rumours are suggesting that the Chelsea misfit is not too keen to join the Hammers either.

This would only mean that Zouma is willing to stay and fight for his place at Chelsea but we are not sure if this the correct option for the 26-year-old.

At West Ham United, he will not only get to play in Europe but will also get much more game time next season.

He should be available for a fairly bargain price since he has two more years left on his current deal and is valued at only £28.8 million.

Chelsea will have no problems in letting Kurt Zouma join the London outfit so now the final decision rests with the French international, whether he wishes to move out or not.
