West Ham United to miss three key players when they face Newcastle United: Headache for Moyes?

West Ham United face Newcastle United in the Premier League this weekend and David Moyes is going to miss some key players for this away fixture.

Declan Rice and Michail Antonio are both on the sidelines with knee and hamstring issues respectively and the manager has made it clear that neither of them is going to make a return on Saturday.

Apart from these two players, West Ham United full-back Aaron Cresswell also remains a doubt for this game after he picked up a knock in the Leicester City win. Cresswell was replaced during the second half but David Moyes’ is keeping his fingers crossed with the availability of the left-back.

“We’re not going to have Declan back and we don’t have Micky Antonio either,” Moyes told in his pre-match press conference.

“We’ve got another couple of knocks that we’re looking at. Aaron Cresswell picked up a bit of an injury [in Sunday’s win against Leicester] and we need to check him out.

“Like any other club we’ve got bumps and bruises at this time of year and it’s beginning to take its toll on a lot of the clubs. I actually think that since the players got back from international duty it’s gone back to quite a heavy injury schedule for many clubs.

“Hopefully we’ll be as good as we can be and we’ll make a decision on Aaron today. He’s a doubt but we hope he’ll be okay. We’re not putting any timeframe on Declan or Michail, but we’re hopeful that both will make a contribution before the end of the season, that’s for sure.

“Declan’s training really well, but it’s all gym-based at the moment. He’s working really hard in the gym because he wants to get back as quickly as he can.”

With Declan Rice out, Mark Noble will partner Soucek in defensive midfield while Jarrod Bowen will be leading the line vs the Magpies.

But if Aaron Cresswell is not ready in time then Arthur Masuaku could be forced to move out of the left wing and play as the left-back.
