West Ham United went into the international break at the back of a loss to Brentford but they have gotten back to winning ways by beating Everton this weekend.

And next up, they face Tottenham Hotspur in the Premier League(after a Europa League game vs Genk) on Sunday.

Spurs will provide a much sterner test for the Hammers and after the 1-0 win against Everton, David Moyes has urged his side to maintain their defensive rigidity and keep more clean sheets.

“I don’t know my record at Everton but I don’t think we lost too many back-to-back games,” he said after the match, as quoted.

“To have success you have to try to do it. Overall you are desperately trying to build on it. I have been disappointed we have been conceding goals. It was a good clean sheet and we need more as the season goes on.

“If we are to be successful we have to be better at it. I thought all the players contributed to that clean sheet.”

The Hammers are on a roll this season and after that win vs Everton, they are now eighth on the Premier League table. They have scored 15 goals in their eight matches but at the same time, they have conceded 10 goals.

The Hammers have managed to keep only two clean sheets in the league this season and going into a match against Spurs, this is a really worrisome record for David Moyes.

Spurs boast an attacking line up that consists of players like Kane, Lucas Moura and Son so defensive cohesiveness will be of utmost importance next weekend.

Thankfully, the North London side have scored only nine goals in eight games this campaign but with the kind of firepower they have, things can turn around within a snap.

West Ham United have looked more solid with Kurt Zouma in central defence but almost every first-team player will have to give their 100% if they wish to pick up all three points vs Tottenham.
