West Ham United have recently appointed David Moyes as their new boss and it looks like he is eager to sign Ross Barkley from Chelsea this month.

The midfielder joined the Blues in 2018 but he is yet to find a regular spot in the first XI having made only seven appearances under Frank Lampard this season.

But it looked like things were finally changing for Ross Barkley after his fine outing against Burnley last weekend following which the manager had come out to publicly praise him.

Speaking to Chelsea FC’s website, Lampard said: “I speak a lot with Ross and I really like him. He came to me a couple of weeks ago and said he was starting to feel good. It was a niggly injury, but he’s just starting to feel absolutely released from it.

“This was the performance [against Burnley] we want out of Ross. It was so positive and you saw his quality on the ball; he can hit a right-foot ball, left-foot ball, take the ball well. He looked confident.

“That’s part of Ross’s game you could maybe question if you look from the outside: how confident is he when things go against him slightly?

“This was exactly what Ross can do; an England player, playing for Chelsea, has given me a lot of thinking to do with that performance.

“He just needs to train well and he needs to play well – and he played well against Burnley. He needs to continue like that.”

Now though as per reports, West Ham United have set their sights on Ross Barkley as Moyes want to sign the midfielder on a short-term loan deal.

Chelsea have maintained that Barkley is a key part of the squad but the Hammers are confident that the Blues will agree to let him leave since the likes of N’Golo Kante and Mateo Kovacic have been performing exceptionally well.

Jorginho, unlike last season, has been rock solid while young Mason Mount has also stepped up to make his mark under Frank Lampard.

All this means, Ross Barkley is way below the pecking order and some experts claim that it would be good for him to join West Ham United in order to get some confidence as well as playing time under his belt.
