The Premier League summer transfer window has been the big debate in England over the past couple of months and now the authorities have finally up with an approved date.

As per the official statement, the summer transfer window will begin on the 27th of July and will end on the 5th of October.

The statement read: “The dates for the summer 2020 transfer window for Premier League clubs have now been agreed after the COVID-19 pandemic delayed the conclusion of the season and the start of the window.

“The window will open for 10 weeks at the end of the current Premier League season, starting on 27 July and ending on 5 October.

“A domestic-only window, during which Premier League clubs can only trade with those in the EFL, will run from 5 October to 17:00 BST on 16 October.

“The transfer window is subject to the approval of FIFA.

“Clubs were previously granted a one-day window to register new players on 1 July. But clubs have been announcing new signings for the 2020/21 campaign. No signings announced after 1 July will be registered by the Premier League until the beginning of the summer 2020 transfer window.

“So any new signings will only be able to play in 2020/21.”

The 2019-20 season of the Premier League will end on the 26th of July meaning the summer transfer window will officially begin just one day after that.

The next season will begin either towards the end of August or in the first week of September so the upcoming transfer window will continue for more than one month after the 2020-21 PL season kicks off.
