Which is the best Premier League team ever?

This question has been the centre of debate amongst fans ever since the old English first division was revamped into the Premier League.

While some claim the Arsenal Invincibles were the best Premier League team in the history of the competition others feel that the 2017-18 Manchester City side was the best of the lot.




So in order to settle the debate of the best Premier League team, the good folks at BBC decided to hold an online poll wherein people were asked this very same question.

And the results are not very shocking at all.




BBC had shortlisted 8 famous trophy winning teams from the Premier League era and the fans had to choose the best amongst those.

Here are the results of the best Premier League teams ever:



8. Arsenal – 1997-98

That famous season when a certain Arsene Wenger arrived at the shored of England from Japan and revolutionized the Premier League.

The 97-98 team also gave rise to one of the greatest managerial rivalries in world football. Ferguson vs Wenger.



7. Manchester United – 1993-94

Who knew that this Alex Ferguson side was going to change the face of the club for the coming decades.

And the man carrying the torch at the front was the charismatic Eric Cantona.



6. Chelsea – 2009-10

Carlo Ancelotti’s first season in charge in England and the Italian showed exactly why he was regarded so highly in the Serie A.

The Blues ended the campaign with 103 goals and a goal difference of +71 eventually going on to lift the trophy.

5. Chelsea – 2004-05





Chelsea had just been bought by Russia businessman Roman Abramovich who promised to invest heavily at the club. And his first major move was to bring in Jose Mourinho as their new boss.

Initially, the Portuguese was frowned upon by many but quickly the former Porto manager showed exactly why he was the special one.



4. Manchester United – 2007-08

Sir Alex Ferguson’s talent of creating trophy winning sides was in full swing with the likes of Rooney, Ronaldo and Carlos Tevez up front and the charismatic duo of Ferdinand and Vidic at the back.

United are yet to remould such a fascinating side.

3. Manchester City -2017-18





Pep Guardiola was regarded as the manager with a golden touch and he did the same with this Manchester City side.

Before the Spaniard, City were a good side but once the former Barcelona man brought his brand of football at the Etihad, the Citizens have become unstoppable.

2. Arsenal – 2003-04





The first team to go unbeaten during a whole season – a feat which is yet to be matched.

Wenger’s 2003-04 team was one of the best Premier League team there ever was and will ever be.

1. Manchester United – 1998-99





The first and the only treble-winning side in England.

And that Champions League final is surely one of the greatest comebacks European football has ever seen.
