West Ham United signed Alex Kral on loan from Spartak Moscow in the final week of the transfer window and this was a much-needed signing for Moyes.

The manager was really desperate to bring in a new midfielder before the transfer window shut down and the 23-year-old Kral is a prominent addition to the squad.

The Czech Republic has now revealed that Vladimir Coufal and Tomas Soucek played a really key role in helping him join the North London side.

He told the club’s official website: “I spoke with the manager [David Moyes], but it was only a short conversation as I am away with the national team.

“I also spoke with him about how I want to concentrate on the national team now because it is really important for me as we have two qualification games for the World Cup.

“We were in contact and Mark Noble wrote me a message on WhatsApp welcoming me to West Ham and these small things are really nice for me.

“Yeah, Tomas and Vlad were like my second agent! Of course, they helped a lot and I’m really happy I can join West Ham and show my qualities.”

Alex Kral is a Czech Republic international and he’s played in 23 games for the national side. For Spartak, he played in 29 league games last season, providing five assists.

He is primarily a central defensive midfielder but can also play as a central midfielder meaning he will act as the backup to Declan Rice and Tomas Soucek this season.

And since West Ham United will be playing in Europe as well, Alex Kral should get a fair amount of game time as the campaign rolls along.
