Emile Heskey thinks Caglar Soyuncu will be the perfect addition to Liverpool’s defence next season but Leicester City are not expected to part ways with the Turkish international.

The defender joined the Foxes in 2018 from Freiburg and during the ongoing season, he has really put in some fine performances under new boss Brendan Rodgers.

And while Liverpool have been linked with the 23-year-old, Leicester City should not be too worried about it, claims Heskey.

He told GentingBet, as reported by Express: “Soyuncu would fit in well at any club.

“He’s taken the role of centre back at Leicester, which was a very important role, following the footsteps of Wes Morgan and Johnny Evans, and no one knew what to expect of him.

“But he’s taken it by the scruff of the neck and he’s really improved and given something extra as well as he’s good on the ball.

“I don’t see him going anywhere, even Liverpool, as Leicester don’t need to sell unless they want to and they don’t have a ready-made player to fall into his spot.

“However, if Leicester did want to sell, Soyuncu could go to any of the top clubs.”

Can Liverpool get Caglar Soyuncu?

Liverpool right now are the best team in England and can practically lure in any player. But at the same time, these new players will have to be guaranteed playing time next season, which is almost next to impossible when it comes to the defensive line.

The likes of Van Dijk, Matip and Joe Gomez have been stellar all throughout the current campaign and no matter who comes in, that particular player will have to prove his worth to Jurgen Klopp.

And after such a stellar season at the King Power, we doubt if Caglar Soyuncu will be too eager to shift loyalties and start from scratch.

Also, Leicester look all set to play in the Champions League next season so if the Turkish international was to stay at the club, he will get to play in Europe as well.
