Celtic FC suffered a 1-0 loss to Rangers FC in the first Old Firm derby of the season but there seems to be very little panic in the Bhoys camp right now.

New manager Ange Postecoglou was on the wrong side of the result as fellow manager Steven Gerrard came out on top. But according to former Arsenal man Kevin Campbell, the 56-year-old will need some time to sort things out.

The Glasgow side have signed as many as 12 new players during the summer whereas Rangers FC have turned into a well-oiled machine under Gerrard. So, the Hoops fans will have to be patient with their new manager.

“They have brought Postecoglou in to straighten things up,” Campbell told Football Insider. “He needed to change the fortunes because Rangers were so strong.

“Obviously they won the Old Firm by one goal but I think Celtic were alright. Rangers just know how to win now.

“12 players coming in, it will take a while for them to settle but they have to get going.

“You have the break now and they can use that but Celtic really need to get going now. They just couldn’t take their chances last week.”

Celtic FC to beat Rangers to the Scottish Premiership title?

Celtic FC have brought in as many as 12 new faces during the summer but the reality is that they have also lost some really valuable players.

Odsonne Edouard has joined Premier League side Crystal Palace while Kristoffer Ajer has joined Brentford. And the manager will need ample amounts of time to fill these gaping holes in the squad.

Steven Gerrard got a handful of seasons at Rangers to sort out the mess and the ex-Liverpool man has certainly delivered. Now, the Celtic FC board will have to show similar patience with Ange Postecoglou.

Celtic FC have already lost two games in the new Scottish Premiership season and they are now sitting sixth on the table. While things will certainly improve as the months pass by but the Scottish league is decided on the back of only a handful of results so it will be really difficult for the Bhoys to win the title if they drop even more points.

Rangers are on nine points from their first four matches and with the way they have started the 2021/22 season, it’s safe to admit that Steven Gerrard’s side is once again going to lift the Premiership title.
