Arsenal and Aston Villa have been linked with a move for Norwich City’s Emi Buendia but it seems like the Gunners are not interested in wasting time at all, according to The Sun.

The two Premier League sides are looking for attacking reinforcements this summer and both of them have set their sights on the 24-year-old. While Villa are still pondering over a move, Arsenal seem to have already tabled their first offer.

Charlie Wyett writes: “ARSENAL and Aston Villa have made official bids for Norwich’s £40million-rated winger Emi Buendia.

“Both clubs, who are offering packages worth £30m-plus, are now locked in a major fight for the Argentine winger who is now certain to leave Carrow Road.

“But Norwich, who do not need to sell financially, are playing hard ball and insist they want £40m for the Championship player of the year.”

Can Arsenal sign Emi Buendia before Aston Villa?

A £30 million plus offer is a really good one for a player who has been at the top of his game this season, scoring 15 and assisting 17 goals in 39 Championship games for Norwich.

But the Canaries know very well that Aston Villa also hold substantial interest in the winger which is why they are holding out for a better quote.

Arsenal are looking to wrap up this deal really quickly but Norwich will be in no hurry meaning Aston Villa will have plenty of time to ponder over this and come up with a better offer.

Emi Buendia has three more years left on his current deal with is another big relief for Norwich City. The Gunners do have the option of making this offer better but without European football to offer, Mikel Arteta will be working on a really shoestring budget this summer. So we don’t think he has the luxury of spending £40 million plus on a single player.

Norwich City are financially stable side so they can afford to hold out even for this transfer window but Arsenal need reinforcements if they wish to get back into the top-four next season.

Aston Villa could have to part ways with Jack Grealish and if they do then the club will be getting a handsome transfer fee which could then be used to outbid Arsenal and sign Emi Buendia.
