Chelsea signed Hakim Ziyech last just last year from Ajax but it looks like his time with the club might be coming to an end really soon.

A couple of weeks ago, there were reports that Thomas Tuchel is not ready to give Ziyech one more season to prove his worth and the manager has officially put him up for sale this summer.

Now according to rumours in Italy, AC Milan are willing to offer an escape route to the Moroccon international by signing him up.

TEAMtalk cites Italian reports claiming: “Ziyech was one of a number of high-profile signings Chelsea brought in last summer in a statement of intent.

“The approach did not quite pay off in the Premier League, but they did end the season with Champions League glory. Despite that success, they could make more alterations to their squad this summer.

“According to Gazzetta Dello Sport, Milan remain very much interested in Ziyech. Aware that he is “on the sidelines of Tuchel’s project”, they are willing to offer him an escape route.”

Why AC Milan are not likely to sign Hakim Ziyech:

According to Transfermarkt, Chelsea paid £36 million to Ajax for the services of Hakim Ziyech and the winger still has four more years left on his current deal with the club.

So, there’s no way Chelsea will allow him to leave for a bargain price after just one year and right now, Milan do not have the financial strength to pay £35-45 million for a single player.

The Italian side are also exploring a loan deal but even there they will only be able to pay €2 million out of the 28-year-old’s €6 million wages. And this will prove to be another roadblock for them.

The only way AC Milan will be able to get their hands on Hakim Ziyech this summer is if they agree to a loan deal with an option/obligation to buy. But for that, they will have to dig deep into their pockets or hope Chelsea are ready to shell out €4 million per season just to see the 28-year-old play in the Serie A.

During the 2020-21 season, Hakim Ziyech played in only 23 Premier League games for Chelsea, scoring two and assisting three goals.
