Steven Gerrard wants Filip Helander at Aston Villa

Lyle Taylor will not be playing for Charlton Athletic any more this season meaning he is sure to leave the club as a free agent in the summer. And Rangers FC are one of the clubs tipped to sign him.

The forward is looking to head out to greener pastures next season and as per Kevin Philipps, the 30-year-old might have already chosen his new club which is why he has refused to return to The Valley.

“I was listening to Lee Bowyer speak at length about it on Sky,” he told Football Insider.

“Obviously he does not want to play for Charlton now and he could potentially have something lined up already and I am pretty sure he has. Whether that is in Scotland, who knows.

“As an ex-player, I get both sides. Bowyer understands but he is naturally disappointed because you start the season with a squad and you want to finish all 46 games with your full squad. But we never envisaged anything like this.

“If Taylor has a big move lined up, it could be the one that secures his family’s future. The money will be significantly more than what he is on now.

“I never like to see players refuse to play football but I get his side of the story. A very frustrating time for both parties.”

Rangers FC are amongst a flurry of clubs who are keen to land the centre-forward but there’s a big enough chance that Gerrard is going to miss out on him.

Premier League sides like Crystal Palace and Bournemouth are interested in signing him in the summer and as far as we think the forward will be playing in the top division in England next season.

Lee Bowyer has already hinted that Taylor will look to earn a massive pay rise at his new club which to be very honest is not likely to happen in Scotland.
