Chelsea are looking to bring in some fresh faces this summer and of their targets is Inter Milan’s 22-year-old wing-back Achraf Hakimi.

The former Real Madrid man joined Inter last summer for a fee of around 40 million pounds but owing to financial trouble, the Italian side are looking to part ways with him after just one year.

Chelsea and PSG are the two clubs being linked with a move for Achraf Hakimi and as per the latest reports, the Blues have just launched their first offer for the Moroccon international. But La Gazzeta dello Sport are saying that Inter Milan have not only rejected this initial approach but also made it clear that they only want cash in exchange.

The report claims: “Chelsea also on Hakimi. After the PSG, the European champion team has also moved and Inter’s hope is that an auction will be unleashed around the Moroccan outside to reach or approach the hoped-for 75 million. With a warning: you only need cash.

“Chelsea, for example, tried to propose Emerson Palmieri and also Andreas Christensen, a 25-year-old Danish central defender.

“The Nerazzurri’s interest in the Italian-Brazilian left-handed is known, but Ausilio and Marotta replied that for Hakimi (who, moreover, Inter must finish paying to Real Madrid), only cash is needed, while the negotiation for Emerson would be conducted separately, in a second time”

The Blues were trying to use Emerson as leverage in this deal but Inter Milan are clearly having none of it. And at the same time, €75 million seems to be a really steep price for the 22-year-old.

Yes, Tuchel will have money to spend this summer but we doubt if the club will sanction such a massive deal for one player, particularly when they have other areas to look at as well.

Also, PSG have the finances to pull a cash-only deal through for Achraf Hakimi so the Blues cannot afford to ponder over this decision for too long.

Thomas Tuchel has players like Reece James and Callum Hudson-Odoi who play in the same role as Achraf Hakimi so we think if the Inter Milan man is being eyed by the Premier League club then one of the existing wing-backs could be heading out soon.
