Achraf Hakimi

Achraf Hakimi is currently on loan to BVB from Real Madrid and this season the youngster has made himself standout amongst the top-five leagues in Europe.

The 21-year-old right now is widely regarded as one of the best right-backs in Europe which is why both Chelsea and Spurs, along with a number of other clubs are keen to sign him during the summer.

Achraf Hakimi is set to return back to the Bernabeu at the end of this season after completing a two-year loan deal in Germany and at first, it was being claimed that Zidane was willing to sell him off.

But last week, there were fresh reports which intimated that Real Madrid have finally made up their mind on the Moroccon international and they do not wish to part ways with him.

This news was surely a massive setback for both the London clubs but now Hakimi himself has admitted that Madrid is yet to contact him over a new deal thereby keeping the hopes for the interested clubs still alive.

Achraf told Cadena SER when asked about the interest from various clubs, as quoted: “Who does not like it? I am proud of what I am doing.

“In June I will have to make a decision and it will be a great step for my career. In theory, my contract ends in June and from there I have to return to Madrid.

“I have not yet had contact with Madrid on this matter, but I imagine that soon we will have some conversation to find out what is best for me.”

Achraf Hakimi has provided 10 assists in 25 Bundesliga games for Dortmund this season so surely Real Madrid will try and convince him to sign a new deal at the club. But the last thing the full-back would want to do is to remain at the Bernabeu as an understudy to Carvajal.

So if Zidane cannot guarantee the Moroccon enough playing time next season we believe he will try and join a new club which is great news for both Chelsea and Spurs.

The two London clubs are looking for defensive reinforcements for the upcoming season and surely they will be able to guarantee regular first-team starts to Achraf Hakimi.

It’s still unclear as to what the future holds for the Madrid born player but no matter what the end result, the 21-year-old will have no shortage of takers during the upcoming transfer window.
