Man United have surprisingly been linked with Barcelona winger Ansu Fati over the past couple of weeks and some rumours have claimed that the Premier League club are willing to pay absurd amounts in order to sign the youngster.

But now as per Sport, Barcelona have taken notice of this situation which is why they are in the process of offering a new deal to Fati, as soon as possible.

The report suggests: “The sports management of Barça plans to organize in the next few days a meeting with the representatives of  Ansu Fati to discuss the terms of his new situation in the team and the possibility of further shielding his contract.

“Although the young player of Guinean origin already saw his contract renewed last December (until 2022, with a clause of 170 million euros that will amount to 400 when he formally becomes a first-team player), the club wants to transfer the player and to his environment the full trust that exists in him.

“Still without a date,  the club wants that meeting to be held before Barça travels to Lisbon, in case of eliminating Naples, to play the final to eight of the Champions League.”

Are Man United serious about signing Ansu Fati?

The winger joined the Barcelona academy in 2012 and this season, he has been a big revelation for the club, scoring seven and assisting one goal in 24 La Liga appearances.

The teenager undoubtedly has a bright future ahead of him but we do not think Manchester United are serious about signing him this summer.

Solskjaer knows pretty well that a player like Ansu Fati will cost a lot of money and after bringing in players like Sancho and Grealish, Man United will not have much left in their kitty.

But that clearly has not stopped Barcelona from tying him down with a new deal despite his current contract expiring in 2022 with an option to increase two further years.
