Anthony Martial wanted by West Ham United Man United

Man United forward Anthony Martial has seen a major dip in form during the 2020-21 season and the Frenchman had yet another poor outing on Sunday vs West Brom.

Martial started the match on the left wing since Cavani has been occupying the centre-forward’s position and up until the 66th minute, the forward had managed to string together only 25 passes without even trying a single dribble in the final third.

The forward scored a brace during Man United’s 9-0 win over Southampton but those goals have done very little to lift his confidence.

Many pundits have been urging Solskjaer to take the tough call and drop Anthony Martial on the bench but it looks like the manager is not ready to give up just yet.

“No [I’m not concerned by his form]. I know Anto is working hard to get back to where he was,” Ole said at his press conference. “And he’ll score goals,

”His attitude is very good. Form is sometimes temporary but class is permanent.

“The kid’s got class. So when he works hard, we know it’s going to come out with the good performances in the end.”

This season, Anthony Martial has featured in 19 Premier League games for Man United and has managed to score only four goals. So had it not been for Edinson Cavani and Bruno Fernandes, the Red Devils would have been really struggling to score goals.

Man United take on Real Sociedad in the Europa League on Thursday and most experts feel Ole should send out a strong message to Martial by keeping him on the bench.

Mason Greenwood has done really well whenever he’s played so we expect the youngster to come back into the starting XI in midweek and this would also mean that Marcus Rashford will get to play on his favoured left wing.
