Manchester United will face Man United in the FA Cup final but winger Antony won’t be fit in time to feature at Wembley, his manager has admitted.

The winger picked up a bad ankle injury against Chelsea but his manager had said at the weekend that the Brazilian’s injury is not serious and he has a great chance of making it to Wembley.

However, in his final press conference before the final, Ten Hag revealed that Antony has not recovered in time.

Ten Hag said, as per the club’s official website: “[It’s] unlikely. Dos Santos still has a chance, but it’s a really small chance.

“He didn’t make the progress. So, what I say is he still has a chance, but it’s unlikely he is available.”

Antony joins Anthony Martial who was ruled out earlier this week with a hamstring injury but the good news is that Luke Shaw has recovered from his niggle and has trained normally with the rest of the squad.

Antony is the only natural right-winger in the Manchester United squad and his injury means Jadon Sancho will have to play on that side.

Martial’s injury means Weghorst would be his natural replacement but against a team like Manchester City, we think Erik ten Hag will keep Marcus Rashford up top and then Garnacho will play on the left wing.

Antony has scored only eight goals this season for Man United so performance wise he won’t be a big miss. Also, Jadon Sancho has been performing pretty well in the previous few matches so all in all, Ten Hag won’t be too concerned.
