David Moyes wants to sign a new centre-forward and according to Football Insider, the Hammers manager has registered an interest in 20-year-old Armando Broja.

Broja is a product of the Chelsea academy but he spent the last season out on loan to Southampton and his loan spell seems to have caught the attention of several Premier League clubs.

He will return to Chelsea for the pre-season camp but with so many forwards already available, chances are that Thomas Tuchel might send him out on again.

Everton manager Frank Lampard is reportedly keen to bring him on board and Southampton have also shown a desire to take him back for another loan spell. Several Italian clubs are also being linked with him with teams like Napoli, AC Milan and Inter all keeping tabs on him.

West Ham United have now joined this long list of admirers but unlike the other suitors, Moyes wants to sign him on a permanent deal.

Do West Ham United need a player like Armando Broja?

For 18 months, David Moyes has been working with only Michail Antonio so he needs to bring in a new centre-forward at any cost.

There’s no way Antonio will be able to handle the pressure all alone and a player like Armando Broja can be the ideal partner.

Broja is a huge presence in the opponent’s box and with superb wide players like Fornals and Jarrod Bowen, the Chelsea man can feast on great crosses all throughout the season.

Armando Broja is not the only forward who’s been linked with the Hammers so it’s basically an open secret that David Moyes wants to bring in a new and young centre-forward before the 22/23 season kicks off.

Will Chelsea allow Armando Broja to leave?

Broja’s contract with Chelsea expires in 2026 so the Blues are in no hurry to sell him off but this might actually be the best opportunity to cash in on him.

More than half a dozen clubs are interested in signing the 20-year-old and since Chelsea already have a long list of forwards in their first-team squad, Armando Broja is of no use to Thomas Tuchel.

However, Chelsea will bring him back for pre-season and the manager will give him a fair shot at impressing him. If Armando Broja cannot impress Thomas Tuchel then he will most likely be sold off before deadline day.
