Premier League side Arsenal have been a long-term admirer of Torino striker Andrea Belotti and as per Italian reports, the Gunners seem to have reignited their interest in the Italian international.

90min cites Tuttosport writing: “Arsenal are one of a number of clubs said to be battling for the bargain signature of Italy striker Andrea Belotti this summer.

“The Torino forward is currently representing his country at Euro 2020 but speculation regarding where he’ll be playing his club football next season is rife.

“Arsenal famously saw a substantial offer – believed to be in the region of £55m – turned down for the player a few seasons ago, but it according to Tuttosport they’ve reignited their interest.”

Will Arsenal be able to sign Andrea Belotti this time?

The Gunners are looking to sell Alexandre Lacazette this summer which is why Mikel Arteta has made the signing of a centre-forward one his top priorities.

And 27-year-old Andrea Belotti perfectly fits the brief.

Arsenal failed to convince Torino to sell their striker a few seasons ago but now that Belotti has only one more year left on his current deal, there’s a big chance the Italian side will soften their stance.

But, the major challenge for the Gunners will be to convince the Torino captain to snub clubs like AC Milan and Napoli and move to the English Premier League.

The 27-year-old has spent all his time in Italy and we are not sure he will be ready to move to England, especially since some of the top Serie A sides also want to sign him.

Belotti will be the ideal replacement for Alexandre Lacazette with his vast experience at both club as well as country level but without European football on offer, the North London side have become toothless in the transfer market.

During the 2020-21 season, the centre-forward scored 13 goals in 35 Serie A games for Torino and as per TransferMarkt he is currently valued at £31.50 million.
