Everton are expected to sell Dominic Calvert-Lewin during this ongoing transfer window and according to the latest reports, either Arsenal or Newcastle United could be his next destination.

DCL has had a really poor season with the Toffees, scoring five goals in just 17 Premier League appearances for the club but this dip in form doesn’t shun the fact that he is a fine talent.

He scored 13 league goals in 19/20 and in the 20/21 campaign, he had netted 16 league goals for Everton so with better players around him, Dominic Calvert-Lewin can very easily regain his old form.

Both Arsenal and Newcastle United have been sniffing around for quite some time and right now, these two teams are the bookmakers’ favourites to sign the England international.

Will Everton be forced to sell Dominic Calvert-Lewin?

Everton need money to finance their new arrivals so they are expected to cash in on some of their first-team talents.

The experts are claiming that the club will have to part ways with either Richarlison or Dominic Calvert-Lewin and now it’s up to the manager to decide who he wants to keep.

Richarlison has hinted that his time at Everton might be coming to an end but his performances were far better last season.

As per The Times Everton are now planning to hold talks with Calvert-Lewin to find out if he is committed to the club or does he wish to head out for greener pastures.

The other big question that will shape this development is whether Frank wants to hold onto the in-form forward or does he wish to gamble on DCL, hoping that he will be able to revive his form soon enough?

Will Arsenal be able to overtake the Magpies in this transfer race?

Arsenal should be the logical destination for the 25-year-old because he will not only get regular starts but at the same time, he will be able to play in the Europa League next season.

Eddie Nketiah is the only recognized centre-forward remaining at the club so Dominic Calvert-Lewin can very easily slot into the first XI.

However, Newcastle United have got new cash-rich owners so they can afford to pay lucrative wages in order to lure in the right players. Howe has done wonderful work this year and his management has every plan to back him in the market this summer.

Calvert-Lewin currently earns £72,000-a-week at Everton and the new-look Newcastle United will have no problems in paying much more than this. Eventually, if DCL wants to play at a club who will be seriously competing for a top-four spot next season then Arsenal will be his subsequent destination but if he wants an enormous pay rise then the Gunners do not stand a chance.
