With Dusan Vlahovic slipping away from their hands, Arsenal are now looking to sign Luka Jovic on loan from Real Madrid, as per a report in The Sun.

The Premier League side have been trying really hard to sign Vlahovic but as per the latest updates, the Fiorentina man wants to join Juventus. Some sources are claiming the 21-year-old is expected to join Juve in the coming days which means Arsenal have no other option but to shift their priority elsewhere.

As per The Sun, the Gunners are exploring the option of a short-term loan deal for Luka Jovic as the Serbian is of no use to Real Madrid this season.

Can Arsenal sign Luka Jovic on a loan deal?

Jovic joined Real Madrid in 2019 with a lot of hopes but he’s turned out to be a massive failure in Spain. With Eintracht, the forward had netted 36 goals in 75 matches but with Madrid, he’s managed to score only three goals in 47 games.

This season, the 24-year-old has played in only 11 La Liga games, scoring a single goal and providing two assists.

The forward is a complete misfit at Madrid so their manager should have no issues in letting him move out on a loan deal this month. But it remains to be seen if he is ready to move to the Premier League and join Arsenal.

With Lacazette not leaving this month, Mikel Arteta cannot promise Jovic regular starts for the remainder of the season(more so since they aren’t in Europe) and this could be the major roadblock in this deal.

If Luka Jovic is moving out in the coming days then whichever club he joins will have to guarantee him playing time or else he will be happy warming the benches at Madrid.

Arsenal are also chasing Real Sociedad’s Alexander Isak and Everton’s Dominic Calvert-Lewin but both of them will not be easy targets, especially with only a few days left for the transfer window to shut down.
