Arsenal have managed to sign Gabriel Jesus from Manchester City but according to Noel Whelan, Mikel Arteta is possibly looking to bring in another striker.

After Jesus’ arrival, he and Eddie Nketiah are the only two recognized centre-forwards so the pundit believes Arsenal will probably need to sign a new striker, who’s of a different mould.

He tells Football Insider: “You can never have enough options. Gabriel Jesus, Eddie Nketiah – these are both players who like to run off the last defender’s shoulder and spend most of their time in and around the box.

“If there’s an opportunity to bring someone in who is six-foot and above – a different type of player, someone who can attack balls into the box – then that could be worthwhile.

“It would give Arsenal that out ball if they are struggling. I’m sure it’s something Mikel Arteta will be looking into.”

Do Arsenal need another striker after Gabriel Jesus?

Arsenal will be playing in the Europa League next season so there will be a lot of unwanted and uneasy matches at far away venues which is why Mikel Arteta needs at least three strikers in his squad.

There’s no way Gabriel Jesus will be able to carry all the load on his lone shoulders throughout the season and to be very honest, Eddie Nketiah is not the ideal backup for a player like him.

Mikel Arteta needs to bring in a forward who can play as a backup to Jesus and can also chip in with 10-15 goals throughout the season.

While Arsenal have been linked with players like Victor Osimhen and Richarlison but they are not even close to bringing him on board. They had tried to sign Raphinha from Leeds United Chelsea are have made a last-ditch move to spoil Arsenal’s party.

Last season, Arsenal managed to score only 61 goals in the Premier League which was the lowest amongst the top-five sides meaning if they don’t sign another striker this summer then all the goal-scoring pressure will fall on Gabriel Jesus’ shoulders.
