Several major clubs have shown an interest in Barcelona winger Ferran Torres and as per a report in Jijantes, Premier League side Newcastle United have made an offer for the former Manchester City man.

Eddie Howe is keen to add attacking reinforcements for the next season and the Magpies have just offered €20 million which includes €5 million in add-ons in a bid to try and land Torres.

Ferran Torres has been with Barcelona since 2022 and in these two years, he has played 113 games across all competitions. He is primarily a left-winger but over the years, he has played out on the right and also as a centre-forward. However, Barca are dealing with massive financial struggles and in such a scenario, there’s every chance that they will be ready to offload the 24-year-old.

Will Barcelona agree to sell off Ferran Torres?

Barcelona had paid €55 million to sign Ferran Torres from Manchester City but he hadn’t had a significant impact at Camp Nou. This season, he has scored just 7 goals and three assists in 29 La Liga matches.

Even though he is the only left-winger in the current Barcelona squad, a lucrative offer will be enough to strike a deal. However, there’s no way Deco will sell him to Newcastle United for just €20 million.

His current market is €30 million with three years remaining on his contract and on top of that, the Catalans had paid €55 million to acquire him.

In short, there’s no way Barca will suffer such a major loss after just two years.

Chelsea have also been linked with the winger so Barcelona will be confident they will be able to bring in at least €35-40 million from Torres’ sale.

Will Newcastle United better their offer for the 24-year-old?

Newcastle’s current offer for Ferran Torres will definitely be rejected by Barcelona and we think they will come back with an upgraded offer.

The Magpies cannot spend freely this summer due to fears of a FFP breach but they have enough money to pay around €30-40 million on a talent like Torres. We feel the Newcastle management were just testing the waters with this initial offer and they have much more to offer for the Spain international.

Chelsea are also keeping tabs on Ferran Torres and if they are serious about offloading Raheem Sterling then the new manager could try and go the Barcelona because he will be a bargain transfer. If the Blues do make a move in the coming weeks then Newcastle United will find it extremely difficult to land the winger.
