Real Madrid have been constantly linked with Liverpool full-back Trent Alexander-Arnold and now according to Fichajes, German giants Bayern Munich also seem to have joined this transfer race.

Trent Alexander-Arnold has been on Madrid’s radar for a couple of months and there is a strong belief that with just one year remaining on his current contract the England international could snub a new offer from Liverpool and head to the Bernabeu.

Some think Madrid are ready to pay a nominal fee to land him this summer but ideally, the Los Blancos want to wait until the end of the 24/25 season so that they will be able to sign the 25-year-old up as a free agent. Up until now, Madrid were the only club showing interest in Trent but things are about to get a whole lot more interesting with Bayern Munich looking at TAA as the long-term replacement for Joshua Kimmich.

Can Bayern Munich overtake Real Madrid in this transfer race?

For starters, Liverpool have no interest in letting Trent Alexander-Arnold leave this summer because Arne Slot views him as an integral part of his future plans and the club is now in the process of offering him a new contract.

Liverpool are confident that Alexander-Arnold will agree to the new deal but just to be sure the Premier League side have slapped a €80 million price tag on the right-back to keep the suitors at bay until the transfer window shuts down.

It’s certain that neither Bayern Munich nor Real Madrid will want to spend €80 million on a right-back right now but the Bavarians have something that could tempt Liverpool into selling TAA.

Bayern Munich are looking to offload Joshua Kimmich due to his high salary demands and the new Liverpool manager happens to be one of the admirers of Kimmich. Kompany is ready to get rid of Kimmich so there’s a chance that the Bundesliga side might use the full-back/midfielder in a swap deal for Trent Alexander-Arnold.

Arne Slot thinks Joshua Kimmich will be an apt signing to revamp the Liverpool midfield but we are not sure if the Reds will agree to this straight swap deal because Trent is too precious to them and they will be happier to hand him a new contract instead of going out in the market to search for a new right-back.

Talking about Real Madrid, there’s no way they will want to spend €80 million on the Liverpool defender this summer. Instead, they will be ready to wait it out and hope Trent rejects a new contract offer in the coming months.
