Man United left-back Brandon Williams has been urged to leave Old Trafford during the January transfer window and head to Germany on a loan deal.

Commentator Stephen Doyle told in a recent podcast that the Man United academy graduate should join Bayer Levekusen after the German side have shown an interest in signing him up on a short-term loan deal.

He said, as reported“I think Brandon Williams strikes me as something similar to Denis Irwin. He’s one of these players, he gets his head down, does all the necessary work the left-back needs to do without any fuss whatsoever.

“I think he’s got a really bright future. I spoke to somebody who would know people around the club recently enough, and there seems to be a little bit of doubt over him, over his ability. But I think he’s really good.

“And I think if he was available, there’s a few clubs being mentioned.

“I know Bayer Leverkusen were one of the leading favourites to sign him. It mightn’t be so bad for him to go over to Germany. We’ve seen so many English players going over there and doing well for themselves.”

Brandon Williams has fallen down the pecking order at Man United this season after the arrival of Alex Telles and up until this weekend, the youngster has played for only six minutes in the Premier League.

Solskjaer reportedly has no problem in sending him out on loan but apart from Bayer Leverkusen clubs like Southampton and Newcastle United are also keep to rope him in.

Various reports in England have claimed that both Newcastle Utd and the Saints want to sign Brandon Williams on a loan deal but with Leverkusen in the mix, it will be anything but a walk in the park for the English duo.

A saving grace for Southampton and Newcastle will be the fact that Brandon Williams would want to join a club from where he’s clearly visible by Solskjaer – something that might eventually worse against the Bundesliga side.

Some rumours suggest the Magpies are currently the frontrunners in signing the 20-year-old and we will have to wait and see if Southampton and Leverkusen will challenge that.
