Bukayo Saka has been one of the star players for Arsenal this season and according to Noel Whelan, the wingers should avoid any hasty decisions.

The English media has claimed that the Gunners are ready to offer Saka a new deal where he will be getting a substantial pay rise and the club are confident he is going to put pen on paper.

The winger has scored eight goals in 24 Premier League games this season and according to former Leeds forward Noel Whelan, Bukayo Saka should play the waiting game in terms of the new deal.

He told Football Insider: “Right now, if I was Saka, I’d be holding out on the contract I’ve already got.

“I’d be seeing if we are in the Champions League and then having discussions with the manager.

“Champions League football, for me, is huge, especially when someone’s playing at the top of the game. Someone that’s so important, someone so young.

“For me, playing the way he’s playing, I wouldn’t be thinking about another contract just yet. I’d be thinking of doing my very best for Arsenal.

“If we get in the Champions League, that’s where I want to play, then contract negotiations can start.”

Will Bukayo Saka be eager to join Liverpool or will he remain at Arsenal?

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp is a big admirer of Bukayo Saka but the Anfield outfit will only make a move for him if they are absolutely sure that he won’t be signing a new deal.

At the moment, Saka has shown no intentions of leaving the Emirates and if the Gunners can get back into the Champions League then he will surely sign the new and improved contract.

Liverpool will not look to shamelessly poach the winger and with the way Arsenal are playing at the moment, we don’t think Bukayo Saka will be thinking of playing for another club soon. Also, if he were to join Liverpool next season then he will have to serve as the deputy to Mo Salah for at least one whole campaign.
