Arsenal youngster Bukayo Saka has improved in leaps and bounds in the previous few seasons and as per ESPN, Liverpool and Manchester City are interested in signing him.

The England international is currently one of the best players in the Arsenal squad and if the Gunners cannot tie him down to a new deal then Liverpool, as well as Man City, are expected to make a move for him.

ESPN’s Mark Odgen is claiming that both the PL sides are keeping close tabs on this whole situation and if the North London side cannot secure a Champions League spot next season then the youngster will likely be at the centre of a major transfer battle in the summer. His current deal with the club expires in 2024.

Can Arsenal tie him down to a new contract?

Mikel Arteta is very much aware that Bukayo Saka is going to become the club’s next big superstar which is why Arsenal are already making plans to offer him a new deal.

Next summer is going to be really crucial for the Gunners and as per Football.London, they already have plans to put a new deal in front of the player’s representatives.

But it remains to be seen if the 20-year-old is ready to remain at the Emirates or not.

The Gunners need to secure a top-four finish if they wish to have any hopes of holding onto Bukayo Saka since, without European football, he will be more than ready to venture out. Several other Arsenal superstars have left the club in the past, in order to win trophies or get bigger paychecks and there’s every chance that Saka could also walk in that same direction.

Will Liverpool and Man City try and sign him in the summer?

Ideally, Arsenal do not need to hit the panic button just yet since they still have some time to work this one out but if teams like Liverpool and Man City are interested in Saka then the youngster’s mind can sway very easily.

If the Gunners fail to qualify for Europe then both the interested clubs will definitely try and seize this opportunity.

Liverpool could lose Mo Salah in the near future so someone like Bukayo Saka is going to be the perfect upgrade to the Egyptian and then there’s Pep Guardiola who’s always ready to upgrade and add competition into his squad.

Arsenal will obviously fight tooth and nail to hold onto a player like Bukayo Saka but if greats such as Henry and Van Persie can head out for greener pastures then a 20-year-old in 2022 will have much greater ambitions.
