Cameron Carter-Vickers had a wonderful loan spell with Celtic and the Bhoys are desperately trying to sign him on a permanent deal but they are to wrap up this transfer.
As per reports, Celtic have until June 15 to trigger the purchase clause but they cannot seem to agree on a transfer fee with Tottenham. The clause is around £6million which could rise to £10million with all the add-ons.
Ex-EPL defender Alan Hutton has claimed that Celtic should have been more attentive while chalking out the purchase clause and that the SPFL side are now running the risk of losing out on Cameron Carter-Vickers.
“I think this is why you should always have it sorted before,” Hutton told Football Insider.
“I believe if you’re taking a player on loan with aspirations of signing him after that loan, you should really get the figure in place before.
“I’ve seen it happen with millions of players. Tyrone Mings, when he came to Aston Villa, was outstanding. Then all of a sudden, the fee went up. That happens all the time and the club that you’re on loan from just takes advantage of the situation.
“It’s somewhere he’s been happy and enjoying his football. I think it’s a transfer that will happen as long as it doesn’t take weeks. If it goes on and on, somebody can just steal the march on you.

Will Celtic fail to sign Cameron Carter-Vickers?
The defender is more than willing to return to Celtic next season but it looks like the Bhoys are struggling to gather the funds for a permanent move.
The centre-back had a wonderful season with Celtic, playing 2520 minutes across 28 league games and if the Bhoys cannot make up their mind then he will have no shortage of takers.
£10 million is nothing for the Premier League or the Championship clubs and many of them will be more than willing to bring him on board.
CCV has admitted that he wants to join a side where he can play regularly so if Celtic fail to agree on a transfer fee then it will be their loss and not the defender. He will just go on to join whichever side is ready to give him uninterrupted game time next season.
