Chelsea are at risk of losing Mason Mount in the summer and as per ESPN, the Blues are eyeing Fulham midfielder, Andreas Pereira as the potential replacement.

La Liga giants Atletico Madrid along with PSG are also interested in signing the 27-year-old midfielder and now he’s garnering interest from Graham Potter’s side as well.

Andreas Pereira joined Manchester United’s U18 side in the 11/12 season and he was with the club until the 21/22 campaign before finally being sold to Fulham.

This season, the midfielder has played in 27 league games for Fulham and he’s managed only six assists and two goals. Despite his average performances, it is clear that Pereira has no shortage of takers as some of the biggest names in Europe want him on board.

The Blues are desperate to hold onto Mason Mount but there are whispers that the England midfielder is going to reject a new contract offer and if this happens then Chelsea will reluctantly put him up for sale this summer.

If a player like Mount leaves then it’s going to be a massive blow for Potter but someone like Andreas Pereira cannot be the answer to this problem.

Pereira had been with Manchester United for the longest time yet he failed to break into the first team. Over the years, he’s spent time on loan to Granada, Valencia, Lazio and Flamengo but he’s never shone at Old Trafford.

Chelsea have broken the bank for Enzo Fernandes so it makes no sense to sign Andreas Pereira as his midfield partner. Yes, if Mount leaves they will need a No 10 but with Boehly’s financial might, the club will be better off going after someone else.

The 27-year-old is valued at around £25-35 million which is a lot of money for a player like him. It would make much more sense if they let Atletico sign the Fulham man while they try and hold onto Joao Felix beyond the summer.
