Chelsea are back in the Premier League after their Club World Cup endeavours and this weekend they take on Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park.

Palace has been playing some really neat and tidy football under their current manager and there are several people who think the Blues might stumble against Vieira’s side.

Chelsea won the CWC last weekend and they have gotten a full week’s rest so at least Michael Owen believes Tuchel’s side will grab all three points.

He wrote in his BetVictor blog: “Palace haven’t been playing badly, but that’s now two defeats in a row. They need some luck to go their way, but they also need to take some of their chances. They’ve got a lot of attacking quality, so I think the results will pick up.

“Chelsea have had a week off after winning the Club World Cup, and I’d expect them to come back in good form. They’ve got a big couple of months ahead of them, and I wouldn’t be surprised to see them lift some more silverware.

“This will be an even game, but I think Chelsea will have too much quality for Palace.”

Chelsea are jubilant at winning the Club World Cup but the reality is that they have won just one out of their previous five league outings. Before the CWC, the Blues were not in the best of forms and this could once again be a problem this weekend.

The results might not be going Palace’s way but they can surely inflict damage with their new brand of football.

Chelsea have what it takes to get over the line but in order to pick up a win, their forwards will have to find their peak form once again. Their defence is very well drilled out so the only thing they need to sort out is their attack. If the Eagles manage to shut out the likes of Lukaku and Kai Havertz then there’s every chance they might pick up something from this game.
