Liverpool take on Wolves in a mid-week Premier League tie and forward Darwin Nunez is likely to feature in this match.

Apart from Darwin Nunez, Ibrahima Konte is also back to full fitness from the muscle injury which he picked up back in January. However, it’s still too early for Thiago Alcantara, Luis Diaz and Joe Gomez because all of them are ruled out of the Wolves game.

“Let’s start with the not so positive: Thiago not [available], he is in rehab,” Klopp said, during the pre-match press conference.

“Luis I saw now, I watched half an hour of the rehab session. [He was] Out on the pitch individually, shooting, moving, all looks really good. But he was not in team training yet so that’s probably the decisive information.

“Joe Gomez is out with a muscle problem. Ibou trained yesterday completely normal and Darwin as well and now we have to see.

“Ibou had no issues since he was injured, we just wanted to give him more training time before we include him again, and that should be now fine.”

Darwin Nunez missed the weekend’s game against Crystal Palace due to a shoulder issue but he has returned to full training on Monday and should be available for selection on Wednesday night.

The manager added: “Darwin, we have to see. It’s a shoulder, it looked absolutely OK yesterday but I don’t know before some people will tell me how he reacted to yesterday.”

Jota and Firmino are also back to full fitness so Jurgen Klopp is a lot less tense with Nunez’s injury. However, the summer signing is just starting to find form and he’s scored in each of the previous two games which he has played.

If he is 100% fit then the Liverpool manager is likely to choose him over Jota because the Portuguese as well as Bobby Firmino are not match-fit.

The last time these two sides met was during the first week of February and Wolves shocked everyone by winning that match 3-0. After Wednesday’s game, Liverpool face Manchester United and ideally, Klopp should be keeping his players fresh for that match but the kind of position that they are in right now, the Anfield outfits have to treat every game as a final.
