Manchester United might be seriously considering a move for 23-year-old winger David Brooks, as a cheaper alternative to Jadon Sancho, according to Sport Witness.

The report claims: “Manchester United interest in David Brooks is rather more serious than widely assumed, Sport Witness has been informed, and there could even be developments relatively quickly.

“The Bournemouth player has been suggested in various reports as an alternative to Jadon Sancho for the Premier League club.

“And whilst he may not waltz into the starting eleven quite as easily, the idea has gone further than the initial stage, and it’s clear a deal for the 23-year-old would be much easier to complete than one for the England international.

“Borussia Dortmund have insisted the deadline for a Sancho exit has passed, and they’ve spoken to the media so often about the situation that selling the former Manchester City player now would damage their credibility.”

Will David Brooks be an alternative to Sancho?

David Brooks scored just once in nine Premier League appearances for AFC Bournemouth this past campaign after returning from a serious ankle injury but it was his debut season where he caught everyone’s eye.

During the 2018-19 season, the 23-year-old scored seven goals and registered five assists in 30 league matches.

The winger has two years left on his current deal with the Cherries and he is valued at £18 million by TransferMarkt which automatically makes him a much cheaper alternative to Jadon Sancho.

Man United are really struggling to land the Sancho deal since Dortmund want nothing less than £120 million and it finally looks like Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is ready to look elsewhere.

We are still unsure as to how serious Ole is about signing David Brooks but if the OT outfit push hard enough, it shouldn’t be too hard to sign the right-winger.
