Teams like Manchester United and Chelsea had shown an interest in signing Declan Rice but they eventually failed to bring him on board. Now, according to journalist Dean Jones, the Hammers are confident of holding onto him.
Everyone thought the midfielder will head for greener pastures in the summer but West Ham United refused to sell him off and the club are now confident that he himself won’t want to leave.
Speaking with GiveMeSport, the transfer insider claimed: “For now, I mean, West Ham are very confident about the place that Rice is in. He’s knuckling down and he trusts the process.
“He knows that any move for him will come along at the moment in which he actually needs it.”

His current deal with West Ham United expires in 2025 which is why the London side could afford to deflect all the buyers. However, if West Ham fail to qualify for Europe next season then they will find it almost impossible to hold onto the defensive midfielder.
Man United might have signed Casemiro but Erik ten Hag will any day put his money on a youngster like Declan Rice. On the other hand, N’Golo Kante is refusing to sign a new deal which means Potter will be tempted to sign Rice as the Frenchman’s long-term replacement.
The Hammers have made a very poor start to the 22/23 season but they will at least have to secure a Conference League spot or else, David Moyes will find it impossible to hold onto a talent like Declan Rice.
He’s played every minute in the Premier League this campaign and there’s no denying that a player of his calibre needs to be playing in the Champions League or at least the Europa League.
