Will this Man United midfielder look for a new club after being labeled a misfit?

Man United brought in Donny van de Beek from Ajax during the summer transfer window but the Dutch international has hardly gotten any gametime at the club so far.

During the 2020-21 season, Van de Beek has only played 249 minutes across 10 Premier League games so far and according to Dimitar Berbatov, it wouldn’t come as a surprise if the 23-year-old decides to hand in a transfer request.

“I don’t know what is going on with Donny van de Beek,” Berbatov told Betfair, as per The Independent.

“I said before he signed that I like him as a player, he was great for Ajax and his national team, but now he can’t get a game at United.

“I don’t watch the training sessions and the little time he does get on the pitch isn’t enough to judge him.

“He needs a run of games in a row to give him confidence. I can see that his confidence isn’t high at the moment, and that’s normal because when you don’t play you start punishing yourself and ask questions of yourself.

“I wouldn’t be surprised if he is starting to look for the exit and nobody will blame him. Something isn’t working.”

Recently reports have been suggesting that Donny van de Beek is not happy with is situation at Manchester United and he doesn’t want to give interviews any more.

But despite his failure to win Solskjaer’s trust, we do not think the Dutch international will look for an exit any time soon(not at least during the summer).

Yes, he cannot get into the starting XI right now but there’s every chance that Paul Pogba choose to move out of the club at the end of this season, in which case a critical position will open up in midfield.

It’s unclear how Van de Beek’s career at Old Trafford will pan out but if someone like Fred can revive his career at the club then Donny van de Beek shouldn’t be giving up hope so easily.
