With Harry Maguire not fully fit, Harry Kane should be the centre of focus for the England team in the European Championship but many think the forward might not have his head in the right place.
Right before the 2020-21 season ended, Kane put his Tottenham Hotspur future up in the air by hinting that he was ready for a bigger challenge. And with clubs like Chelsea, Man United and Man City interested in him, the gossip vines are ripe that the forward is going to play for one of these clubs next season.
Some people also feel Harry Kane might be impacted with all the transfer chatter around him and this will eventually affect his performances in the EURO for England.
Former England boss Glenn Hoddle has admitted that the Spurs man could be indulged in transfer talks with the interested clubs while the Euros are on but this is not something out of the blue so the forward is not likely to be affected by it.
“I’m sure it goes on[transfer talks]. I don’t think it would go on in front of the management, but I’m sure it goes on,” the former Three Lions boss said, as quoted by Express.
“I remember talking to Ray Clemence as a player, trying to get him to come down to Tottenham from Liverpool. So yeah, it goes on, I can tell you that. But it wasn’t something I came across that was that alarming as England manager, no.
“He’s [only] human. That is going to affect him a little bit. He can say what he wants to say, but he would have preferred to have everything sorted out – whatever needs to be sorted out.
“He’s still on a three-year contract at Tottenham. But I think Harry’s a professional, he’s a team player enough to know that he’s got to switch that off and focus solely on England.
“What happens in that short period of time, it’s not a long old season he’s got to go through and have a quick break after and get it sorted.
“He’s got to switch his mind on. Some players I think it would affect, but I don’t think it will affect him on the pitch. The in-between is going to be the problem.”
With giants like Man United, Chelsea and Man City interested in him, Daniel Levy has slapped a £150 million price tag on the forward.
Harry Kane knows very well that this transfer saga might drag on until deadline day so we are sure he has mentally prepared himself to block out all the chatter and completely focus on his performances for the national side for the next one month.
The England captain has 54 caps for the Three Lions and the 27-year-old has managed to score 34 goals.
