Everton and Fulham are being linked with Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Harry Winks, according to a report in The Sun.

Winks has fallen down the pecking order under Antonio Conte as the Italian has preferred the midfield pairing of Hojberg and Bentacur during the second half of the season and it looks like Spurs have now decided to offload the 26-year-old.

Harry Winks has come up through the ranks at the club and just a few seasons ago he was shaping up to be the next significant midfielder for them but unfortunately his career has taken a nosedive under Antonio Conte. This season, he’s played only 912 minutes of Premier League football across 19 games.

The Spurs boss has been given a sizeable transfer budget so we can expect at least one or two new midfield reinforcements for the next season and this only means Winks’ time at the club is more or less over. According to the reports, Spurs are willing to sell him for a fee of around £25 million.

Will Harry Winks choose a move to Everton or Fulham?

Fulham have secured promotion to the Premier League and Everton have also avoided relegation so either way, Harry Winks will be able to play in the top tier.

However, we think a move to Goodison Park will be much more plausible because they are expected to pull up their socks and aim for the top half of the table next season. After the miserable season that they had, the Everton owners will surely look to bring in several big-name signings.

Also, at Everton, Harry Winks will get the chance to play under Frank Lampard and this will massively help him get back his form.

With all due respect to Fulham, a player like him will any day choose a move to Everton instead of Craven Cottage but the only thing the Toffees will have to assure the 26-year-old of is uninterrupted game time next season.
