Manchester City welcome Everton right after the international break and by the looks of it, Jack Grealish could be an absentee for this encounter.

Grealish featured for England in their 5-0 win over Albania on Friday but the winger seems to have picked up an injury in that match which is why he’s returned to Manchester.

The England manager has confirmed that Jack Grealish along with Jordan Henderson has suffered minor injuries which is why their national duties have been cut short.

“As a precaution with both we’ve scanned them,” Southgate said, as per Sky Sports. “There are small injuries on the scans, so we just hope that they’re not going to miss too much football from here on.

“It shouldn’t be too bad in either case but (we) just have to see how that progresses.”

Will Jack Grealish miss the Man City vs Everton game?

Jack Grealish has taken quite some time to settle down at Manchester City since his big-money move during the summer which is why if he misses out on the weekend then it will only be a personal setback.

Pep Guardiola has Raheem Sterling for backup and he can even use Phil Foden out on the left. So even if Grealish cannot make it, the Man City boss won’t be worried one bit.

So far this season, the England international has played in nine games but has managed to provide only two assists and score one goal. His overall performances have been really good but his direct contributions have certainly dried up since making the switch from Aston Villa.

If Jack Grealish misses the Man City vs Everton game then it will be a big boost for someone like Raheem Sterling since he’s on the brink of a January exit it seems.

But once the Everton game is wrapped up, the clock will start ticking for Man City’s clash vs PSG in the Champions League and this is where someone like Jack Grealish can really come up with the goods.

Passing the Everton test should not be a problem for Man City but if Grealish misses the PSG encounter then the Etihad outfit could fall short.
