Leicester City take on Arsenal in the Premier League on Saturday and Brendan Rodgers has revealed that forward Jamie Vardy is fit to play.

Jamie Vardy picked up a knee injury during the Brentford game and he had to be taken off at half-time. And immediately there were doubts over his fitness and his availability for the Arsenal game.

But the Leicester boss has come out to calm a lot of nerves claiming that the forward is fully fit and will start against the Gunners on Saturday.

“Jamie’s fine,” Rodgers said on Wednesday evening, as quoted by Leicester Mercury.

“He trained this morning (Wednesday) and joined back in the group. All the guys are fine.”

Jamie Vardy returning to full fitness is a major problem for Arsenal:

Jamie Vardy has netted seven goals in nine league matches this season and his return is undoubtedly a big boost for the Foxes. And at the same time, this could cause a lot of complexities for the Gunners boss.

Arsenal defender Ben White played in midweek vs Leeds United but he had to be taken off in the second half since he was suffering from a viral bug.

And there’s still doubt if he will be fit for Saturday’s game or not.

“No, there is a bug going on,” Arteta said after the match, when asked if Ben White was injured. “We lost Pablo today as he wasn’t feeling great and Ben had it as well in the last day or two. He wasn’t feeling great, so we decided to take him off.”

Rodgers has been using Jamie Vardy and Iheanacho in a 3-4-1-2 system this season and if someone like Ben White is missing then Arsenal could be in deep trouble.

If White is not available then someone like Pablo Mari or Rob Holding with partner Gabriel in central defence and if the two Leicester City forward are in sync on Saturday then they could tear apart the Arsenal defence.

A flu bug means Ben White should be fine by the weekend but we will have to wait and see if he is match-fit or not, especially since he played 55 minutes on Tuesday.

Jamie Vardy has been in form this season so with or without Ben White, the Gunners backline will have to be at their utmost best at the King Power Stadium.
