Liverpool's Jordan Henderson playing for England

Liverpool take on Arsenal in the Premier League this weekend but the Anfield outfit could be without Jordan Henderson as well as Andy Robertson.

The duo picked up injuries during the international break while playing for their respective national sides and while some reports had suggested that they will be fit for the Arsenal game but Jurgen Klopp still remains unsure.

While the Liverpool boss has admitted that the knocks might not serious but both Robertson and Jordan Henderson will have to go through a late fitness test in order to determine their availability.

“Robbo was lucky, we can probably say. It was a little bit DOMS, the intensity of all the games he played probably, rather than anything else,” Klopp told Liverpoolfc.com

“He was smart enough to [make] the right decision, he went off early, which he usually is not doing. But in this case, it was absolutely right, and so there’s a good chance that he can be involved at the weekend.

“Hendo, a little bit more [injured] than Robbo but a chance for the weekend. So we are working on that. It’s not a serious injury but in this short period of time we have to see if he is ready for Saturday. But after that, 100 per cent, and possibly for Arsenal as well.”

Will both Jordan Henderson and Robertson miss out vs Arsenal?

Liverpool go into this game at the back of a loss to West Ham United so they need to pick up a comfortable win in order to calm the slightly jittery nerves.

Also, a win for Arsenal on Saturday will push them above Liverpool on the Premier League table and this is something which Klopp cannot allow to happen.

Henderson and Robertson have been some of the standout players for the Anfield outfit this season and if they are missing then it will undoubtedly be noticeable.

Jordan Henderson has played in 10 Premier League games this season and has a Fotmob rating of 7.49 out of 10 while the left-back has a rating of 7.21/10 in 8 league matches.

Yes, he has the players who can fill the voids in the first XI but the Reds take on Porto in the UCL just a few days later meaning the manager has to rotate his squad to avoid any further injuries.

And this will be next to impossible if Hendo and Robertson are missing on Saturday.

Hopefully, these players will be fit in time to play but we don’t think the Liverpool manager should be using less than 100% players against Arsenal. The Gunners have improved in leaps and bounds in recent months so Liverpool will need to name their strongest side this weekend.
