Chelsea take on Bayern Munich in the Champions League this weekend and Kingsley Coman will be unavailable for selection for this high-profile game.

Doubts were raised earlier this week when the forward did not train with the rest of the squad and on Thursday, all he did was a 20-minute running session.

Many people argued the manager was not trying to exaggerate him before the Chelsea game but now Hansi Flick have confirmed that Kingsley Coman will not play this weekend.

“Yes I can tell you he won’t be with us tomorrow,” Flick confirmed, via Football London. “He won’t be playing with us tomorrow.

“But I think that we have great alternatives like Ivan [Perisic] and Philippe [Coutinho] who can substitute him.”

Apart from Kingsley Coman, full-back Benjamin Pavard will also be unavailable for selection when Chelsea come to town, as confirmed by the Bayern Munich keeper.

“Kingsley Coman did not train with us today,” Neuer said at the pre-match press conference. “I think we still have enough options upfront.

“Chelsea have even more players unavailable. For us, everyone is fit and available except Kingsley and Benjamin Pavard.”

Kingsley Coman has been a key performer for Bayern Munich during the 2019-20 season scoring four and assisted four goals and he will definitely be a big miss this weekend.

Bayern Munich played a friendly against Marseille a couple of days ago in which Ivan Perisic played on the wings due to the absence of Coman and we think, Flick will make the same change vs Chelsea as well.
