Man United are still the frontrunners in signing striker Benjamin Sesko from Red Bull Salzburg but there are going to face some serious competition from Liverpool and Chelsea.

On Wednesday, Fabrizio Romano hinted that Man United need to move quickly if they want to sign the striker because apart from them two more clubs are interested in the 19-year-old.

Romano wrote on Twitter: “Key days for Benjamin Šeško’s future with contacts ongoing. Manchester United know they have to be fast on this deal, after meeting with agent days ago.

“There are 2 more clubs in the race. Šeško will make a decision soon with his agent and family.”

Now, it has been revealed that the two teams in contention are Chelsea and Liverpool.

Are Liverpool and Chelsea seriously interested in Benjamin Sesko?

Chelsea have sent Romelu Lukaku to Inter Milan for the next season and Timo Werner is also leaving the club so naturally, Thomas Tuchel wants to bring in a new centre-forward asap.

Right now, Kai Havertz is going to lead the line but if Chelsea seriously want to challenge Man City and Liverpool then they need a proper striker amidst their ranks.

However, we doubt if Liverpool are going to make any serious moves for Benjamin Sesko because they have already signed Darwin Nunez plus they also have Firmino and Diogo Jota as backups.

It makes no sense for Klopp to spend £45-50 million on a 19-year-old when they already have three world-class centre-forwards at the club.

Manchester United are still favourites to land Sesko but they will need to move quickly because maybe not Liverpool but Chelsea can certainly jump in and spoil their party in the coming weeks.

Benjamin Sesko has come up through the ranks at Salzburg and he’s being labelled as a very promising talent. Last season, he played 634 minutes in the league, scoring five goals and providing one assist for the Austrian club.
