Liverpool will face Manchester City in the Premier League this weekend and right before this crunch match, Luis Diaz and Darwin Nunez have returned to full training.

Nunez suffered an ankle injury during Liverpool’s Champions League defeat to Real Madrid earlier this month which is why he did not feature for Uruguay during the break.

He’s taken the fortnight break to get back to full fitness and will be in line to start this Saturday at the Etihad Stadium.

The other big boost is the return of winger Luis Diaz who sustained a knee injury during the defeat to Arsenal back in October.

He was supposed to return in December but he suffered another setback as he had to undergo surgery to repair his lateral collateral ligament. This pushed his recovery back three now but now Luis Diaz is ready to go.

The South American’s return will be a massive plus for Jurgen Klopp because he was one of their star players before he got injured but he’s not going to start this weekend.

If it xwas any other team, Klopp would have risked putting him in the starting line up but against Manchester City, there’s no way he will start.

The 26-year-old has been out of action for almost six months, missing 29 games so there’s no way he will be thrown to the deep end of the pool. Luis Diaz will be on the matchday squad and at best, he could get a few minutes towards the end of the game(if needed).

Darwin Nunez is going to lead the line on Saturday and even though Jota and Firmino are available, Klopp is most likely going to rely on the pace of Cody Gakpo down on the left wing.

These two are the only positives because Thiago is still out injured while Bajcetic and Calvin Ramsey are out for the remainder of the season.
