Arsenal have reportedly frozen out Mesut Ozil and according to journalist Oliver Yew, the Gunners want Dani Ceballos to be his long-term replacement at the club.

He said to Sky Sports: “Arteta has appeared to draw a line under the saga. Ozil, who has a year left on his Arsenal contract, does not look to be part of the Spaniard’s plans.

“Will Arteta’s strong management be enough to convince the German it is time to leave the Emirates Stadium? Are there even any clubs interested in signing him and paying his mammoth wages after the financial strain of the coronavirus pandemic?

“Will Arsenal even pay some of his wages to finally get the World Cup winner away from the club?

“These are the questions the Gunners will finally hope to have answers to as they look to solve their Ozil conundrum.

“One man who could potentially fill the void Ozil would leave is Dani Ceballos. The midfielder is currently only on loan at Arsenal from Real Madrid but Arteta has confirmed the two clubs are already “in communication”.”

Can Arsenal sell Mesut Ozil in time?

Mesut Ozil has not featured for Arsenal since the resumption of the 2019-20 season which is a clear indication that Mikel Arteta is looking to part ways with him.

And if the club can sell him before the new season begins then they will be able to free up a lot of money which they can use in the next campaign.

But right now the biggest issue will be to find a club for Mesut Ozil especially with his massive wage bills of 350,000 pounds per weeks. Fenerbahce are interested in signing the German but Ozil will have to take a massive pay cut if he wishes to join the Turkish side in the coming months.

As far as Dani Ceballos is concerned, Zinedine Zidane should have no issues in letting the midfielder join Arsenal on a permanent basis.
