Liverpool receive a big boost which could be crucial in helping them climb to the top of the table

Egypt will take on Liberia in a friendly on Tuesday but Liverpool winger Mo Salah is not going to be part of the matchday squad.

He scored twice in a 3-0 win against Niger on Friday, but manager Rui Vitoria has made it clear that Salah is going to be rested on Tuesday night.

This decision to rest him will now allow Mo Salah to return to Liverpool early and in turn avoid any unwanted injury before a crucial couple of weeks.

Liverpool are struggling to pick up pace this season and they are currently eighth on the Premier League table – nine points behind the league leaders.

Mo Salah might have scored two and assisted two goals in six league games so far but even he’s struggling to hit top gear. Jurgen Klopp is already dealing with several injury woes so the last thing he would have wanted is for his star player to pick up a knock while on international duty.

Can Mo Salah revive his form in the coming weeks?

The two goals vs Niger would have given him some confidence and Klopp will be hoping that the Egyptian international can finally break off his shackles.

Sadio Mane’s sale to Bayern has had a massive impact on Liverpool’s attack and at the same time, players like Darwin Nunez and Diogo Jota have been really underwhelming. In such a scenario, the Liverpool manager is looking at Salah and Diaz to come up with the goods each and every week.

After the break, Liverpool have some massive games coming up and if they want to get back to the top of the table, they have to win all these games.

They have to face teams like Arsenal, Brighton, West Ham and Man City in the next couple of weeks and to make matters more complex, they also have to play in the UCL.

Salah’s early return from international duty will be a big sigh of relief for Jurgen Klopp and now the German will be praying that the winger can guide Liverpool to a couple of wins from now until the World Cup starts.
