Chelsea were held to a 0-0 draw by Fulham last weekend and in that match, January signing Mykhaylo Mudryk played only the first 45 minutes.

The winger was taken off at half-time and immediately, everyone thought that he has picked up an injury. However, Graham Potter explained after the match that Mudryk was playing with an illness which is why he was unable to play the full 90 minutes.

He said(h/t talkSPORT): “He had a heavy cold all week. We thought 60 would be his maximum but he just felt heavy-legged at half-time so felt 45 was right for him.”

Next up, Chelsea take on West Ham United and thankfully, Mykhaylo Mudryk has recovered from his illness and should get another start on Saturday when the Blues face West Ham United.

The 22-year-old has taken part in multiple training sessions this week which indicates he has made a full recovery.

Mudryk was very impressive against Liverpool in his first ever game for Chelsea but he failed to make the same kind of impact in the Fulham game. However, the average show might have been due to him not being fully fit.

The Blues have paid a lot of money for the left-winger in January so if he is match-fit then he will start ahead of Raheem Sterling. Sterling has scored four goals this season for Chelsea but the former Man City man has not had the desired impact so far which is why keeping him on the bench will not be a big task for the manager.

All eyes will be on Mykhaylo Mudryk and Enzo Fernandes because the club have paid a lot of money for them. If they can’t fire and if Chelsea can’t pick up a win then the noose will definitely tighten around Graham Potter’s neck.
