Neymar playing for Brazil
Neymar Brazil

Premier League side Manchester United have been linked with Neymar and as per L’Equipe, United have started official negotiations with the Brazilian.

Neymar’s contract runs until 2025 but PSG are preparing to refresh their squad in the summer and along with Lionel Messi, Neymar could also be sold at the end of this season.

The 31-year-old’s career has not lived up to the hype with the Parisian giants and now that he’s entering the final phase of his professional career he will be eager to prove himself.

He’s been linked with Chelsea and also a return to Barcelona but it looks like Manchester United have made the first concrete move. The winger is valued at €70 million and since he still has two years left on his deal, Neymar won’t come cheap.

Man United will have to shell out a fortune for Neymar but will he be of any help to Erik ten Hag?

United’s main target will be to sign a new centre-forward but maybe ETH is planning to use Marcus Rashford in that role next season. Rashford has scored a ton of goals while playing on the left flank and if he can replicate the same form next campaign then the centre-forward’s position is covered.

Neymar operates on the left-hand side so if Rashford can lead the line then there’s no reason why Man United won’t sign him.

Champions League glory has evaded Neymar since joining PSG but he’s still a world-class player and Manchester United have a ton of Brazilians in their squad to make him feel at home.

Barring a major catastrophe, Manchester United will return to the UCL next season so it won’t be a problem attracting a player like him and despite the price tag, Neymar can become a big asset at Old Trafford.

However, Neymar’s arrival will be a big problem for Garnacho because the Argentine youngster is the future star of the club. Neymar’s signing will hinder his progress because the PSG man is not very flexible in terms of his playing position. He will demand to play on the left-hand side and everyone knows that the former Barcelona man has a big ego when something is not done his way.

Erik ten Hag will have a big decision to make on whether he wants to bring in a superstar like Neymar or rely on Rashford and Garnacho to marshal the left wing and in turn sign someone like Osimhen or Harry Kane.
