Raheem Sterling, just 24 hours ago, had suggested that he’s open to moving out of Manchester City if he does not get game time at the club.

And his manager Pep Guardiola has wasted no time in coming up with a proper response to Sterling’s exit hints.

Raheem Sterling has 18 months left on his current deal and he’s already being linked with some big clubs like Arsenal and Barcelona.

While talking about his future, Sterling had claimed that he’s even ready to play in a foreign league.

Sterling said, as quoted by talkSPORT: “If there was the opportunity to go somewhere else [for more game time], I would be open to it at this moment in time.

“As I said, football is the most important thing to me – challenges that I have set myself from a young age and dreams as well, to play abroad.

“As an English player all I know is the Premier League and I have always had something down [in me] that maybe one day I would love to play abroad to see how I would come up against that challenge.”

And, Pep Guardiola while addressing the press before the Burnley game has made it clear that no player in his team is a guaranteed starter.

The City boss told the press, as per the Mail: ‘Raheem is our player and hopefully he will be an incredibly important player for us,’ Guardiola said.

‘Players want to play all the time but I cannot assure them and they know it. I cannot assure them how many minutes everyone will play. They always have to speak on the pitch, that is the best moment and not just Raheem but all of them.

‘I am not a guy who only plays 11 players and that’s it. All of them are involved.

‘What I want from Raheem and from everyone is to be happy, to be delighted to be in this club and if not they are free to take a decision.’

Guardiola can afford to be bold with his comments because he’s now signed Jack Grealish. And we are more than certain that the manager is going to keep Raheem Sterling on the bench when Man City face Burnley during the weekend.

Gabriel Jesus is set to miss out due to national commitments while Torres is out an injury. This means Pep is likely to use Phil Foden as a false nine vs Burnley.

And with Jack Grealish operating on the left-hand side of the pitch, Sterling will only be good enough to find a place on the bench.
