Rangers FC might have already agreed on a permanent deal to sign Ianis Hagi from Genk, according to the comments of a top Romanian agent.

Hagi has been on loan with the Gers this season and the Scottish side have first option to buy the 21-year-old. And as per super-agent Becali, the youngster has already put pen on paper to the deal.

He said, as reported: “Ianis has just signed for one of the most important clubs in Europe. The deal is complete. I would describe Rangers as the Juventus of Scotland. I understand completely why Ianis has chosen to sign for them.

“They are an extraordinary club. The most important thing is that Rangers have carried out their option to buy him and he now has peace of mind about his future for the next few years.

“He has done very well at Rangers, but there was always the worry that they wouldn’t want to sign him up. But I know he has a very good contract there in Glasgow and this is a really smart move for him.”

Can Lazio still sign Ianis Hagi from Rangers?

The agreement to the permanent deal will be great news for all the Rangers fans since Ianis Hagi has been one of the best players for the Teddy Bears ever since his loan arrival during the January transfer window.

He might have scored just one and assisted one goal in the Premiership so far but the kind of impact he has had in games has been enormous. And maybe this is why Lazio have not yet given up hope in signing the 21-year-old.

Yes, as per the Sunday Post, the Serie A side still hold a substantial interest in the midfielder and they might look to sign him from Rangers this summer itself.

Under normal circumstances, buying a player then selling him straight on would be foul play as the guidelines of FIFA but the governing body of football is expected to loosen some of the transfer rules this summer.

And Lazio are hoping this will work in their favour following which they can convince Rangers to immediately sell off Ianis Hagi by offering a massive fee.

It’s still unclear if the rules will allow such a thing but if Rangers are given the chance of making a lumpsum profit by reselling Ianis Hagi this summer, there’s a possibility Gerrard might sanction the Romanian’s sale.
